Why Pre-Qualify?

You’ve started looking for your dream home and before you go any further it’s time to get real.  Cash, currency, or funds, call it what you will at the end of the day it’s all the same … MONEY!  You’re going to need it to purchase this dream home.  Assuming you are not paying cash, the first step is to get pre-qualified for a mortgage.

Why get pre-qualified for a mortgage?  It will give you a guideline as to how much you can afford.  The vast majority of sellers will not entertain an offer unless the buyer is pre-qualified or a cash offer.  It will also let you, as a buyer, know how much you need as a down payment and give you an estimate of closing costs.
