This weekend in sunny Delray Beach, Florida is the 28th Annual Downtown Delray Beach Festival of the Arts. This art show has been among the top ranking art festivals in the nation. 

The Downtown Delray Beach Festival of the Arts offers its spectators an incredible variety of art. You will see stunning paintings in oil, acrylic, watercolor and mixed media. Sculptures of wood, clay, glass and more will amaze you. Artisan jewelry, textiles, photography and other home décor are also a major part of the display. Bring the kids out to the Mangrove Exhibit at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach for a day of feeding the wildlife! Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday at 3 in the afternoon the fish feeding takes place. 

Guests will get to take a tour through the Mangrove Exhibit, which is a beautiful display of Florida’s coastal ecosystems. You will learn about the importance of estuaries, mangrove islands, and the symbiotic relationships between these animals and their environments. The best part of the demonstration is the feeding! The staff of educated professionals at Loggerhead Marinelife Center will show guests how to feed different animals within the aquarium, from sea anemones to fish and even corals.

Calling all kids who love to help animals, the Junior Vet Lab Program offered at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center is for you! This fun and interactive program takes place at the Loggerhead Marine Life Center in Juno Beach, and aims to educate kids 12 years of age and under about the science behind rehabilitating and releasing turtles back into their natural habitat. 

The program is made super fun with “Dr. Logger,” one of the educated volunteers at Loggerhead, leads the program. The program happens daily for about 30 minutes and walks the kids through the center talking about everyone from rescue to release. Take an adventure with your friends and family by exploring the mangrove islands throughout the Intracoastal Waterways of Jupiter. Depending on the tide and weather the tours take place at different locations and times of day. This Saturday, December 3rd in the evening is a two-hour kayak and paddleboard tour at the Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve. The tour begins before dusk so you can cruise leisurely through the Intracoastal Waterway as the sunsets and the stars come out. 

On this unique tour of Jupiter’s waterways you will get an upclose look at the Jupiter Lighthouse, mangrove islands, estuaries, and the inlet. You will see an abundance of native wildlife like gentle manatees, turtles, fish, pelicans and sometimes even a dolphin. As the night falls, you will get to stargaze with your naked eye and see all that the Jupiter night sky has to offer.

The Jupiter Lighthouse Museum is offering a program called “Hike Through History.” This fun and educational program allows guests to discover the topography and natural history of Jupiter’s national conservation land and historical sites.  

You will hike 2 miles across the 120 acre Jupiter Lighthouse natural area that is full of beautiful landscape and wildlife. An educated guide will explain different species of animals and plants as well as the history and topography of the land. The hike begins at the flagpole beneath the lighthouse and ventures throughout the natural area. You will be able to overlook the serene Intracoastal Waters, hike up hills and through the wooded areas.

Coming to sunny, Fort Lauderdale this weekend is the 2016 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Fort Lauderdale has earned a reputation for being one of the “yachting capitals of the world!” 

Taking place November 3rd through the 7th, will be a exposition complete with the world’s most impressive super yachts, mega yachts, sport fishing boats, center consoles jet skis, personal water crafts, exotic cars and the list goes on. For boat enthusiasts, the 57th Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is the place to be!

Relax your body and mind in a new way with yoga on the water. Mondays at the Jupiter Lighthouse you can experience “twilight yoga” overlooking the water and sunset. 

The class is led by Mary Veal of Kula Yoga Shala in Jupiter, and takes place on the Lighthouse Deck at sunset each Monday evening. The class is designed for yogis of all skill level, from beginner to expert. Embrace the ultimate serenity with twilight yoga at the Jupiter Lighthouse. 

Guests are asked to bring their own yoga mat and flashlight. The classes are free to everyone but a donation to the Lighthouse Museum is greatly appreciated. Class times are usually between 6-7pm but are based on sunset and will be canceled if weather isn’t permitting.

Every Sunday at the Historic Downtown Stuart Riverwalk is Rock’N Riverwalk! Rock’N Riverwalk is an open-air concert that takes place each Sunday from 1pm-4pm. Every week there is a different band playing their best tunes on the beautiful waterfront stage. 

Guests can come out to enjoy the festive live music, walk along the waterfront and eat and drink from all of the local vendors. You will find the freshest seafood served in street style and delicious hand crafted cocktails. For the kids you can stop by the Kilwin’s cart and grab a gourmet ice cream, fudge or chocolates.
