Thanksgiving gatherings in South Florida may be different than in other parts of the United States just in part due to the glorious weather!  Bright skies, pleasant climate, and cool breezes are easy justifications to stay out of the kitchen and go outside with visiting family and friends.

Make time for a round of golf at one of the many signature golf courses in the Jupiter area. Have a smashing tennis match or leisurely day at the beach with guests by simplifying the Thanksgiving menu just a smidge. Merely prepare some things in advance.  While the turkey is roasting away in the oven, nibble on a couple of The Food Network elegant light bites and reminisce on all the over all the things for which you are grateful.

Grab your rod and reel Southeast Florida fishermen!  Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) announced the state is extending its Gulf red snapper season for several more dates in November. Additional dates will be November 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29. These added dates coincide with a statewide license-free saltwater fishing day, which will be on November 28, 2020.

During this season, private recreational anglers may fish red snapper in Gulf state and federal waters. However, state for-hire operations are limited to fishing for red snapper in Gulf state waters only.

The Executive Director of the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Eric Sutton, stated “Saturday, Nov. 28 is also a saltwater

There was very little about this year's Masters that felt "traditional".

Normally held in April, the event was pushed back to mid-November due to the Covid pandemic. There were also no patrons and the par 3 contest, normally held on the eve of the first round, was also cancelled this year due to the pandemic. The only things that were "traditional" about the 2020 Masters were the pimento cheese sandwiches and the loaded leaderboard come Sunday.

When the dust settled, it was Dustin Johnson slipping on the Green Jacket, winning the second major of his career.

DJ came into Sunday holding on to a 4 shot lead but was also 0-for-4 when it came to converting 54 hole leads in major championships. Early on it appeared that dubious record might extend

Halloween is upon us, and nothing could be scarier than what 2020 has doled out already, COVID19. No worries for sunny South Florida.  Social distance candy distribution for Halloween 2020 has not gone to the birds, it has gone to sports nuts! This year the simple act of trick or treating and handing out candy has become complicated and as such people are adjusting on how they plan to celebrate the holiday.

SHOOTING HOOPS:

This is more for you than the kids. The best part: It requires no equipment. Basically, you shoot the candy like you are Michael Jordan and the trick or treaters try to catch it in their pails and pillowcases.

TENNIS:

Grab that tennis racket and depending on the age of the ghost or goblin, lob that Three Musketeers bar

In early 2020, the Martin County Golf Course began renovations to the course and a name change. The new course is now called “Sailfish Sands” and the new course is going to be bolder, innovative, and more unique, nothing like any other course in Martin County.

Earlier this week, the Martin County Parks and Recreation Director announced that he went before the County Commission to update them on the progress of the massive project and to ask for additional funding. The director and course asked for $3 million dollars more which will bring the complete renovation cost to around $8 million dollars and the county approved the changes during the meeting. The county commissioners believe that the new high-end, modern facility will be a huge benefit to the
