It may be ready to break out the pumpkins and fall jackets in a lot of the U.S. but here in South Florida, our summer weather continues to roll on! Instead of hayrides and apple orchards, why not fire up the boat head out on water for a weekend at the Sandbar. Here are three of our favorites to consider:

Stuart/Hutchinson Island:

The Stuart sandbar is located just inside the St. Lucie Inlet, and just east of the convergence of the St. Lucie River and Indian River Lagoon. The closest boat ramp is Sandsprit Park. Divers across the globe have their eyes on the Jupiter coast for the next few months, as hundreds of goliath grouper -- some the size of golf carts, and up to 10 feet,  make their way off the coast for mating season. This annual phenomena, known as the Atlantic Goliath Grouper aggregation, provides divers for a one-of-a-kind experience right in our backyard!

Jupiter Dive Center offers an extensive diving experiences to see these mammoth creatures. The center runs run regular boat trips for two-tank dives on the MG-111 wreck, the local ledge reef system, and other sites where the Goliaths are known to gather. According to their website, during this time of year, divers can expect to see up to sixty(!) groupers along the “wreck trek”.

The Palm Beach Zoo has extended their celebration of Kids Rule the Jungle and will extend their free pricing for kids until September 4th. For each full-price adult admission, two children under the age of 13 will be admitted for free.

Palm Beach Zoo’s winding shaded pathways and refreshing Fountain Plaza splash pad make it a great place to visit during the long summer days. To the delight of the hundreds of animal residents, visitors have been safely and steadily returning to the Zoo.

During Palm Beach County’s Phase 1 reopening, the Zoo is  limiting attendance to allow each guest 100 square feet of space to physically distance from other guests. Indoor locations remain closed during this phase and several hand sanitizer stations are available.

The old song and dance of moving to Florida for retirement is still moving and grooving but that doesn’t mean you have to take up golf or knitting. The Sunshine State has never been more attractive for business owners to start new or bring their already accomplished Co. and Inc down south. A recent study by the University of Exeter in the UK found that people who live less than a mile from the coast are 22 percent less likely to have symptoms of a mental health disorder compared to those who lived much farther away.
