On Wednesday, the Miami Dolphins announced the dates and times of the fourth annual Dolphins Cycling Challenge or DCC. The DCC is a two-day cycling event with ten ride options ranging from 13 miles to 170 miles. The event will encompass Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties and will benefit the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The two day cycling event will take place on November 2nd and 3rd with 100% of rider-raised funds going to the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Since 2010, the DCC has raised nearly $4 million and will look to add to that with this year’s two-day event.
On the first day of the ride, participants will have three riding options that will include several Palm Beach County locations. The “Miami Century Ride” will be a 100-mile-long ride that will start at Sun Life Stadium and conclude in City Place in West Palm Beach.
In addition there will be two ride options in the West Palm area. The “Palm Beach 30” will be a 30-mile Palm Beach loop that starts and ends in City Place. The “West Palm Beach Ride” will take place on the 3rd and will be a 70-mile starting in City Place and ending at Sun Life Stadium.
In addition to the Palm Beach County based rides, there will also be rides throughout the tri-county area over the two days including the “2-day ride”. The “2-day ride” will be a 170-mile ride that will start and end at Sun Life Stadium. Over the two days, participants will travel through all three counties.
Money raised by DCC riders has gone to support multiple research programs at Sylvester. These programs include research into novel treatments used through their clinical trials, as well as support at alex’s place (a kid-friendly, 3,200-square-foot pediatric hematology-oncology clinic designed to empower young patients and support their families), and the Adult Stem Cell Transplant Program – a treatment for patients with various types of blood cancer and hematological diseases.
All adult riders will receive two (2) complimentary tickets to the Miami Dolphins game versus the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, November 24th. Riders who attend the game will be honored in a special on-field pre-game ceremony celebrating their fundraising efforts.
