Summer time in South Florida is completed and that means say farewell to the nearly flat days. This past week has brought a surprisingly long ride of export-quality surf, Florida flawlessness!
Beyond the warm peninsula, South Florida has cultivated a foaming surf community and some of the world’s best riders have learned to surf here. Jupiter, Florida surf rider, Jensen Callaway always gets pumped up to ride the fall and winter waves! Florida is open to all sorts of swell that is generated, but sometimes the waves are too close to shore for any longer lasting, super clean swelling events to occur. But when they do, the surf community is jumping all over it!
As of lately, South Florida has had a run of making waves this week, it could possibly be due to the season changes or the super moon eclipse that recently formed creating a display of sea life and may have had a large impact of wave activity. Either way, the surfers are stoked for these sprays coming back onto South Florida’s beaches.
The swells have continued to be more head overhead surf and light offshore conditions within South Florida. Surf Breaks have been common between Flagler Drive and Martin Counties seem to be getting most of the best waves rolling through. Brevard County has been a standout; the area has been showing the best winds and unbeatable sized waves. Apparently, the breaks are going to stay continually close to the salty shorelines on the east coast.
Check the local Regional Forecast and Surf Cam- Surfline, for more information on the improving wave conditions through the east coast of South Florida and what is expected in the future.
