Offshore, football-sized blackfin tuna have been pretty easy to get ahold of in about 200-400’ of water. You can use small daisy chains or troll with feathers, but quite a few have been caught trolling with small-skirted bonita strips as well. We had a lot of success with neon green and white skirts this week, but colors are a game that changes by the minute, so try a few different ones and switch the rest out as you go if your target fish is tending to a particular color. This past weekend, Bluewater Babes Fish for A Cure celebrated their 10th Anniversary with a bang- literally! The usual festivities at Sailfish Marina were not only over the top, but the series of events culminated with a grand fireworks show over Peanut Island.   When it comes to fishing, SPICED RUM's Sherry Beswick took first place Kingfish with 42.7 lbs, Stacy Maderal of LUNATICO took second with 20.5 lbs, and Gwen Belcher of PRETTY WORK won third with 19.3 lbs. With the mullet run being the highlight of the past couple of weeks, most fishing has been geared toward snook, large tarpon, and amberjack chasing schools through inlets, inshore, on the beach, and at the Juno Pier. Your trustiest bait is live mullet itself, which can be found during low light periods of the day away from boat traffic. The Lauderdale-By-The-Sea Fourth of July Celebration is one of the biggest family events in South Florida. With lots of things to do for both the kids and adults, the beachside party is a fun day for everyone.

It all kicks off with a parade at 10 a.m. at El Prado Park in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea. It starts on El Mar Drive, led by the Broward County Sheriff's Office in their police cruisers and fire trucks. Lady Liberty and Uncle Sam are also of course in the parade announcing the celebration of our nation's birthday and passing out candy to the kids (make sure they bring a bag).

Don't forget a bathing suit either- the park is right on the beach and there's a good chance the firemen will have some fun with the fire hoses too. Other fun-filled kids

The Funky Buddha Brewery has a new annual tradition to celebrate the return of their popular Maple Bacon Coffee Porter. 

This "breakfast in a glass" is a craft beer brew was names one of the best in People Magazine and rated world's second best porter by BeerAdvocate.com. It became famous upon its release at Funky Buddha's original brewery in Boca Raton in 2011. Each year since, the brewery hosts a full-on festival to mark the limited bottle release. 

The festival includes live music, street food from local trucks, and more than 100 specialty beers from Funky Buddha and guests.

The party is on Saturday, January 13th from 1- 5 p.m. at Funky Buddha in Fort Lauderdale.

This November, Fort Lauderdale is hosting their 58th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The show will take place at 7 locations throughout Fort Lauderdale, on November 1st through November 5th, featuring over 1500 boats from over 1200 exhibitors from around the world.
