The Boca Raton Museum Art School pursues various formal and informal structured events “intended to inspire and train the community in various traditional and experimental creative media techniques. Through the art of teaching, critique, demonstration, and discussion groups large and small, our faculty and students explore what creativity means through guided projects in various studio environments.”  The Boca Raton Museum Art School is located at 801 West Palmetto Park Road, in Boca Raton.

Seahorses are unique, and not just because of their unusual equine shape. Unlike most other fish, they are monogamous and mate for life. Rarer still, they are among the only animal species on Earth in which the male bears the unborn young. If you are interested in learning more about seahorses, start with a painting of a seahorse cut out. 

On Thu Oct 27, 2022, from 06:45 pm to 09:00 pm analyze the seahorse by painting a 14" seahorse wooden cutout. It will take place at the Butcher Shop Beer Garden, 209 6th Street, in West Palm Beach. Create your own drawing, such as the magnificent Lionfish drawn by local Tequesta artist Brittany Bosher (featured), and be inspired by the exhibition “Joseph Stella: Visionary Nature”. Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, Delray Beach, has been a center for Japanese art and culture in South Florida since opening in 1977. Morikami invites guests to discover South Florida’s history and connection with Japan, and explore a series of six diverse gardens, each inspired by a different historical period and style of Japanese gardening.

The history of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is remarkably interesting. The lighthouse sits on top of a midden shell mound on the northern side of the Jupiter Inlet. This location in Jupiter was chosen in 1853 when Congress authorized the construction. The Jupiter Lighthouse project was assigned and designed by George Gordon Meade, a young Army Lieutenant. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse was constructed in stages over the next eight years. 

The Lighthouse was one of six Florida lighthouses assigned to Meade before being completed under the supervision of Lieutenant William Raynolds. Lieutenant Raynolds enhanced the final design by increasing the height of the lighthouse tower to 105 feet and doubling the masonry wall for protection from the storms. The
