Barbara Nicklaus, chairman of the board of the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation is proud to announce the opening of the latest Nicklaus Outpatient Center at Miami’s Children’s Hospital.  Barbara’s husband, Jack has won 73 PGA titles and 18 golf majors over his impressive career, and together they have focused their foundation on providing first class pediatric care for children.  When St. Mary’s Medical Center, Tenet, and the Nicklaus Foundation joined together on our local area children’s hospital, rather than using traditional gold shovels to ceremoniously break ground on the new children’s facility, they used sand wedges!  For more information on the Nicklaus Children’s Foundation please check out www.nchcf.org/.

North County Chapter of the American Cancer Society celebrated a modern day fairy tale with the 10th anniversary of the “Celestial Gala” which was held in the grand Harbourview ballroom of Admiral’s Cove Country Club in Jupiter, Florida.  The black tie evening raised funds and awareness for services in the north county area in which thousands of people are touched by cancer daily.  Rob Thomson, managing partner of Waterfront Properties and Club Communities has been the co-chair of the event for several consecutive years and his family personally touched by cancer.  He eventually hopes to see a cure one day. Please mark your calendars for the upcoming Celestial Gala scheduled for February 9, 2013 at the PGA National Resort and Spa.  It is sure to be an elegant and delightful evening!  For more information contact Jennifer.Amarnick@CANCER.ORG  or ticket information call 561-650-0130.
