The Loxahatchee River has a rich history that spans centuries. The name "Loxahatchee" is derived from the Seminole language, with "Loxa" meaning turtle and "Hatchee" referring to river. The Seminole and Tequesta tribes were among the indigenous peoples who relied on the river's resources for sustenance and transportation, and to this day, fishing the Loxahatchee River is one of the best experiences in Jupiter, maybe all of South Florida.

Thousands of Palm Beach County residents will honor Martin Luther King, Jr. today, January 18, 2022. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Baptist minister and social rights activist in the United States in the 1950s and 1960s. He was a leader of the American civil rights movement, encouraging equality. He organized peaceful protests as leader of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, including the March on Washington in 1963. Dr. King led the civil rights movement in the United States from the mid-1950s until his death by assassination in 1968. 

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, multiple events are scheduled today.

The AustinBlu Foundation was formed in 2015, in the wake of a tragedy involving two young boaters from Jupiter, on July 24th, 2015.
