We might not know the results of the 2020 Presidential Election for days or possibly weeks. That is because many states have different rules for processing their mail-in ballots.  Florida began processing mail-in votes two weeks before the election.

Sorting mail and counting ballots can be a logistical nightmare.  Here is why:

-        12 states count ballots as they come in.

-        11 states have a buffer period ahead of the election of over two weeks.

-        17 states begin counting less than two weeks before the election.

-        Six states, including Pennsylvania, do not begin counting until Election Day.

To sum it up quickly, in most states election officials began processing that surge of ballots in the weeks before Election

It might have taken him 40 starts, but Darren Clarke is finally a winner on the PGA Tour Champions.

Needing a birdie on the 18th hole on Sunday at the TimberTech Championship, Darren Clarke safely two-putted from 40 feet to get his first professional win since the 2011 Open Championship and prevent Bernhard Langer from successfully defending his 2019 title.

“I’ve had a lot of opportunities the last few years, so it’s great to finally win one,” Clarke said. “I wouldn’t be working this hard if I didn’t think I could still win.”

It had appeared that Langer, a Boca Raton resident, was well on his way to back-to-back victories at the Old Course at Broken Sound and three in the last 10 years. He held a 1 shot lead

Cruise ships are a key point of Southeast Florida tourism and hospitality, however the pandemic has rocked the boat. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Friday announced that it will allow its “no-sail order” to expire this weekend. The change is a big win for the Florida cruise industry, which has been shuttered completely since March.

Cruise stocks rose Friday after the CDC announced it will replace its nearly 8-month old no-sail order with a less restrictive “Conditional Sailing Order.” The no-sail order has been in place since mid-March due to the coronavirus, but will expire on Saturday night and not be extended, the CDC said.
