Starting this Saturday, the Center Court of The Gardens Mall will look a little like The North Pole. This weekend, Santa and his helper Elves are taking over the center of the mall to bring some holiday cheer.

The annual visit with Santa Claus will look a little different this year. The Gardens Mall plans to let you “Whisper your wishes to Jolly Old Saint Nick” starting on Saturday, November 21st during regular mall hours.

In order to adhere to the current safety and health regulations, The Gardens Mall and Santa Claus have a set rules and guidelines they would like everyone to follow.

Things To Know Before Seeing Santa Claus:

  • Santa Claus and his helper Elves will be at the mall during normal business hours through Christmas Eve.

The Lord’s Place’s 13th Annual Ending Homelessness Breakfast will be a virtual experience this year. The Lord’s Place organization located at 2808 North Australian Avenue provides refuge for men, women and children experiencing homelessness in Palm Beach County. The West Palm Beach-based nonprofit helps thousands of people each year. The Lord’s Place nourishes both the heart and soul via its Ending Homelessness Breakfast.

A new artificial reef program has started off the coast of Palm Beach. This past Monday, November 16th, 55 artificial reefs were deployed off the coast as part of the new project called 1,000 Mermaids that works with the Ocean Rescue Alliance. 

The new project is an artificial reef project that creates reef module to make more habitat on the bottom of the ocean for marine life. The artificial reefs arrived to the Port of Palm Beach on Friday of last week and the reefs were received and picked up to start the project. The non-profit, Ocean Rescue Alliance says that reef builders, and donations helped to make these artificial reef structures possible.

Each artificial reef weighs anywhere from 1,700 to 3,500 pounds and are placed 40 feet under the

Attention dog owners!  Mounts Botanical Garden, 531 North Military Trail in West Palm Beach is turning its annual Dogs’ Day in the Garden into a monthly event, beginning Sunday, December 13, 2020. Bring your four- legged family member for a delightful garden stroll on the second Sunday each month, 9 am-3 pm.  

You will find some great spots around the garden for fun photos with your fur baby! If you post pictures, please use #MountsBotanicalGarden and Mounts will share your photos. Moving ahead, this fun experience for both humans and their fur-babies held on the second Sunday of each month through May 9, 2021.  The event will be held throughout the Garden, and regular admission applies: $10 (general); $5 (children 5-12), and free for members.

Ralph H Norton and his wife Elizabeth founded The Norton Museum of Art in 1941. Ralph Norton was an industrialist in Chicago who headed the Acme Steel Company. The museum came about because him and his wife used to collect items and art to decorate their home.

The couple began spending more time in Palm Beach County when they were semi-retired in 1935. Not knowing what to do with their giant art collection, the two decided to create their own museum in West Palm Beach. Construction first began on the Norton Gallery and the School of Art in 1940 and opened a year later to the public in February of 1941.

Deck The Palms Boutique Holiday Market is back again for the 12th year and is happening this weekend at the Palm Beach Outlets. This year, the event will take place entirely outside.

Deck The Palms Market is an event put on by the Junior League of the Palm Beaches and this event is the largest fundraising event for the league. Every year the market is attended by thousands of people looking to find the perfect holiday gift or treat themselves to something nice. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting a Lighthouse Story Time and Crafts for Kids event this Tuesday, November 17th.  The event is aimed for children ages 8 years old and younger.

The event is a virtual program, and the stories and crafts will feature information on Florida’s history, Lighthouse Keepers, people, and local animals and plants.  The program is free to watch virtually on the Jupiter Lighthouse Website, Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube Channel.

The event is set to begin at 10:30 am tomorrow morning. Craft instructions and information is already posted on Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram for tomorrow’s session.

Four astronauts shot into orbit on Sunday from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, lighting up the night sky on most of the east coast of Florida. The photo above, captured by Captain Kimo, shows the stunning view from Juno Beach Pier.

There was very little about this year's Masters that felt "traditional".

Normally held in April, the event was pushed back to mid-November due to the Covid pandemic. There were also no patrons and the par 3 contest, normally held on the eve of the first round, was also cancelled this year due to the pandemic. The only things that were "traditional" about the 2020 Masters were the pimento cheese sandwiches and the loaded leaderboard come Sunday.

When the dust settled, it was Dustin Johnson slipping on the Green Jacket, winning the second major of his career.

Every day the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts several events for the public to learn more about the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center and marine life. On Saturday mornings, the center hosts a Kids Fishing Program aimed for children ages 8 through 12.

Participants in the Fishing Program will learn the techniques and tricks to fishing from the Juno Beach Pier. The program will teach and explain the concepts of fishing, casting, fish handling, knot tying, and the proper catch and release techniques.  The program will also include information on how to be ethical anglers and reduce their impact on marine life.

The fish caught during the day will always be released. All fishing equipment and bait will be provided. Advanced registration is
