When we head out to the sandbar I know it’s going to be a long day of fun and relaxation, but the one thing I struggle with is leaving my ever-obedient sweet dog behind. That’s a long time for her to be sitting at home, especially when I’ve been at work all week. I usually try to bring her to a friend or family member’s house that enjoys her company, but it’s nice to know that we live in a place where most sandbars are dog-friendly!

Here are a few dog-friendly sandbars that are a perfect spot at low tide for your furry friend to run and play with other well-behaved dogs:

Thanks to the Floridian Aquifer, the state of Florida has literally hundreds of freshwater springs, 33 of which are first-magnitude. First-magnitude means these springs discharge massive amounts of water which, for us, means they're large enough to swim in. These springs are crystal clear with a nice refreshing temperature of 72-74 year-round.

Most of Florida's larger springs are north of I4 which runs diagonally from Tampa to Daytona Beach. This is because the Floridan Aquifer is closer to the surface in that area, and runs deeper the more south you go. South Florida residents can easily take a day trip to any of the state's best springs, which are most central.

Here are some of the coolest and closest springs for SoFlo residents:

The iconic Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is prepping for new projects on the property. The new projects are aimed to help preserve the land from every changing environment and to help preserve Jupiter’s history.

The Lighthouse today still operates as a navigation aid for those on the water.

In the 1970’s, the
