The 13th Annual Palm Beach Beach Bash is back again for another year. The Bash is presented by the fashion icon Lilly Pulitzer, known for the bright colors and tropical prints and is known to be one of the social highlights of the year.

More than 700 guests are expected to attend this year’s bash at The Beach Club on Palm Beach, the island where Lilly Pulitzer began her iconic brand. The Beach Bash benefits the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, the sea turtle research and rehabilitation hospital in Juno Beach. The event will be Saturday, December 29th at 8 pm. 

Guests are encouraged to wear their brightest Lilly clothing to the event filled with cocktails, fashion, great food and entertainment to name a few. Guest must be 21 years and older to attend the Beach

As the Downtown West Palm Beach landscape continues to evolve, so do the features that accompany it. That can be seen in the new CityZen Garden that opened this past week outside the Broadstone Apartments.

A collaboration between Sherryl Muriente, her husband Beju, and Finnish artist Marco Casagrande, the new area features a small outdoor amphitheater, a zen garden and several statues. The space was designed as part of the West Palm Beach Art in Public Places program. The program requires developers to either donate to a public art fund or build public art on their site. As a result, the trio worked with the Alliance Residential Company who developed the Broadstone Apartments.

Tickets are now on sale for the final musical coming to the Kravis Center in West Palm Beach this season as part of the Kravis on Broadway Series. Disney’s The Lion King is hitting the stage on Wednesday, April 24th through Sunday, May 5th.

More than 95 million people have seen the musical throughout the world, and the musical comes to West Palm Beach for the first time. The Lion King has won 6 Tony Awards including Best Musical. The Lion King is based off the classic Disney film about a young lion and his quest to be king and features musical hits by award-winning artists Elton John and Tim Rice. Some of the classic hits include Circle of Life, Hakuna Matata, I Just Can’t Wait To Be King and much more.

After being closed for renovations, one of the oldest libraries around is now back open. The Gioconda and Joseph King Library at The Society of the Four Arts, which also serves as home of the Palm Beach Library, reopened this past week after some restoration work.

The Four Arts King Library offers a collection of over 70,000 publications, periodicals, DVDs, and other media. While it serves as the town library for Palm Beach, the library welcomes people who don't live on the island through a variety of membership programs. The library offers book discussion groups several times a month along with other events and programs.

Join Harbourside Place in Jupiter this upcoming Friday, December 21st for the 4th Annual Jupiter Jingle Jog. Come for a night of holiday cheer and fun and participate in the 1-mile run or walk and the kids Santa Scrambler 200 Yard Dash.

The San Fransisco-based website OpenTable released its 2018 "best" list last week and a popular Palm Beach restaurant made the list. 

Buccan, a staple on Palm Beach known for its inventive small plates prepared with quality ingredients, has been once again recognized by OpenTable by being included on its 2018 list. Buccan has been a hot spot in Palm Beach since chef/co-owner Clay Conley and his partners, including Sam Slattery and Piper Quinn, opened it in 2011. The restuarant has become a regular on the OpenTable "best" lists over the years, including monthly tabulations of best "hot spots" and "best overall in Miami/Southeast Florida".

The Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens comprise the former residence of sculptor Ann Weaver Norton (1905 -1982), the widow of Ralph Hubbard Norton. The house is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and the two-acre property, featuring a collection of 250 species of tropical palms, lies near downtown West Palm Beach on the Intracoastal Waterway.

Displayed throughout the house, studio and gardens are more than 100 works by the artist, including nine monumental sculptures, eight in brick and one in granite. The Gardens were designed by Ann Norton and Sir Peter Smithers. The largest tract of garden containing the great brick sculptures is designed in a natural, unmanicured style. Get your tickets the see Mamma Mia! at the Maltz Theatre in Jupiter this January. Tickets are on sale now for the popular Broadway musical hitting the stage on Tuesday, January 15th through Sunday, February 10th.

Mamma Mia! is about a young daughter’s quest to find her father while preparing for her wedding and the story of her mother’s past, an independent hotel owner in the Greek Islands, after her finding her diary from 20 years ago.

The musical features musical hits by ABBA and has won numerous awards and has been turned into two award- winning movies starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Amanda Seyfried and Cher.

 West Palm Beach has continued the tradition of their annual Holiday in Paradise event that features the famous Sandi the Christmas Tree made entirely of sand. Sandi the tree is the world’s only 35-foot, 700-ton sand tree with hundreds of lights and sculptures carved into the sand. The South Florida tradition stands in the center of Sandi Land.

Sandi the tree, will be on display in near the water downtown at Flagler Park and will have a nightly light display until December 31st. The tree was lit and kicked off the holiday season during the weekly Clematis by Night Tree Lighting on November 29th.

The themes for this year’s Sandi Tree is Merry the Mermaid and will feature tropical tree carvings and a fun filled tropical scene during the holidays.
