This is your chance to have fun and help our local environment. Help spread the message in Jupiter that “PLASTIC AND MARINELIFE DON’T MIX!” by joining the Jellyfish Project Workshop. 

Together with other locals you can help make 500 jellyfish art pieces made from ocean plastic that has been collected from our beaches to help clean up our oceans. You and the group of volunteers will be hand assembling these beautiful pieces of art by fashioning the old polluted plastic into a work of art.

Do your kids like sea turtles, Florida wildlife and fun? Then you will want to bring them to The 3rd Annual Lagoon Fest at the Lake Worth Lagoon in Lake Worth, this weekend! 

At Lagoon Fest kids will enjoy a summer camp style festival complete with live music, wildlife creatures your kids can see and touch up close, competitions, water sports, games and more. They will even get a chance to meet “Luna” the sea turtle mascot of the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

Be like a pineapple this weekend, sweet on the inside and wearing a crown at the Jensen Beach Pineapple Festival. The 3-day pineapple festival is all about celebrating the delicious fruit. 

The Jensen Beach Pineapple Festival has earned a great reputation over its 28-year history. It remains one of the original and biggest street festivals in Florida. At the Pineapple Festival you will find tons of pineapples for sale, pineapple delicacies ranging from sweet to savory, cocktails, juices and more. Calling all fishing enthusiasts or those who want to become fishing enthusiasts now is your chance to get private fishing lessons from expert anglers at the Juno Beach Pier. 

The one-hour, private lessons are going to be held every Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday. The time slots will be 7am, 8am, 4pm and 5pm on these days. 

The Juno Beach Pier staff takes great pride in education avid fishermen and women on the environment, local fish species and all of the tricks and rules for catching them.

OBEO Society will be hosting Boots, Brews and BBQ (“BBB”) at the Lucky Old Sun Ranch in Jupiter Farms. After working closely with the Veterans Administration of Palm Beach County, OBEO Society was able to identify three local veteran families who are struggling in various ways. OBEO Society, their partners and sponsors hope to raise funds to help cover costs and expenses for these heroes in their time of need. The Taurids meteor shower will be falling over south Florida this week. The Taurids shower is not necessarily known for being the most explosive meteor shower in the cosmos but what it is known for is a astronomical phenomena, fireballs.  

The Taurids shower will create tons of vivid, long lasting, ultra bright meteors called “fireballs.”  Fireballs are often more bright than the planet Venus, which is the brightest planet in our solar system. “The Taurids are actually broken into two streams, the North Taurids and South Taurids, but are collectively known as the Taurid Complex. All Taurids are debris from the comet Encke, which is named after German astronomer Johan Franz Encke, who discovered it in 1786.”

It’s November, and this month is usually associated with fall and the holidays but it is also National Diabetes Awareness Month. “National Diabetes Month is observed every November so individuals, health care professionals, organizations, and communities across the country can bring attention to diabetes and its impact on millions of Americans.”
