Every first Friday of the month at the Ocean Avenue Amphitheatre will be “Movie in the Park” night. Make sure to bring your blankets and picnic chairs to watch a movie under the stars with your friends and family. 

The event is free for everyone and you are welcomed to bring your own food and drink, but food, snacks and beverages will be available for sale as well. “The Boynton Beach CRA will also hold a free drawing with prizes consisting of gift certificates to some of the local restaurants and businesses.”

The most anticipated time of year has come in southern Florida, sea turtle season. The turtles have come to lay their eggs and now the eggs are hatching. “The Biologist Beach Walk program is a unique opportunity for Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) in Juno Beach, educators to give the public insight into LMC’s research and conservation efforts.”

Attendees of the walks will get to learn about the different species of sea turtles, how they migrate, interact and nest on our beaches. The experienced biologists leading the tour teach guests inside tricks on how to spot nests will also teach guests and hatchlings where they will often get to see hatchlings. Beach Walks are offered every Wednesday and Sunday through August and registration is online only.

The grocery chain has begun selling fresh lionfish, a prickly, non-native species at 26 stores in Florida. Once caught and placed on ice, the fish is safe to consume after its venomous spines have been removed. Employees at stores carrying the fish have been trained to remove the spines, leaving white fish meat. The white flaky meat has a sweet flavor and tastes like snapper.
