Starbucks is taking the next big step into optimizing your coffee experience. Coffee culture is their gig and they certainly know how to do it right. 2015 will be a new year of great additions to their menus and their amenities. 

Now you will be able to order your favorite pastry and coffee drink from your smart phone and have it delivered to your home or office. Starbucks Corp. plans to add delivery to certain locations in 2015 for a trial. The company is saying this move will “help combat declining traffic, as consumers shift to online shopping.” Howard Schultz, Starbucks’ chairman, president and chief executive office has big dreams for delivery. Schultz believes Starbucks’ delivery will capture “smartphone-tethered” customers by bringing the

People travel great distances to get to a beautiful location like South Florida, but did you know some people drive 40 miles just to taste delicious confections?  Jupiter Donut Factory, 141 Center Street, Jupiter has been a local favorite for years and will be sone sharing the love of doughnuts by expanding to Royal Palm Beach.   These doughnuts are known as the “best handmade, fluffy donuts ever”.  The aroma of fresh baked doughnuts engrosses the restaurant and neighboring shops.

The family owned store makes anywhere from 200-300 doughnuts fresh each day.   Bakers come in at midnight to make the doughnuts and pastry decorators arrive at 3:00am to adorn them.  In addition to traditional fresh glazed

Fort Lauderdale to Cuba by ferry
Imagine taking a ferry from the Florida Keys to Cuba?!

Boundaries have recently eased; a Fort Lauderdale-based company is planning on introducing a ferry service from the Marathon City Marina in Florida Keys to Havana, by the end of the year.

A four hour trip on the 200-passenger catamaran traveling one-way or round-trip from the Florida Keys to Cuba, Brian Hall, owner of KonaCat, said he is self-assured and buoyant that he can get authorization. Traveling via boat used to be a very popular way of travel before the U.S. government terminated tourism to Cuba shortly following the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis.

The Fort Lauderdale-based company says they will operate as a nonprofit organization and the owner, Hall feels certain that they will get the OFAC

On Tuesday, February 23rd, Golf Beer Brewing Company is going to be having a release and tasting party at U-Tiki Restaurant in Jupiter.

Golf Beer Brewing Company is a Hobe Sound based beer brewing company started by three PGA Tour pros, Keegan Bradley, Graeme McDowell, and Freddie Jacobson. Bradley (Tequesta) and Jacobson (Hobe Sound) are local, while McDowell call the Orlando area home.

The event will be held from 5-7pm and will feature live music, beer tastings, as well as meet and greets with Bradley, McDowell, and Jacobson.

Uber is a private mobile transportation network app that allows consumers to request transportation from drivers.  Founded in 2009, Uber has expanded its service to 53 countries and over 200 cities worldwide.  It is like a cab service but the drivers use their own personal cars.

Uber is now available in South Florida. The ride sharing company launched its app-based service in Miami last summer.  It has expanded its service and is available in the West Palm Beach and Jupiter areas.  Prices are averaging 25% less than taxi’s. After requesting a ride, a photo of the driver will flash up on your smartphone, letting you know who the driver is and the make of vehicle.
