The Anquan Boldin Foundation Charity Golf Celebration will be held at BallenIsles Country Club on Thursday April 11th. The shotgun start tournament will be a part of the three day Q-Festival that Boldin and his foundation will put on for the ninth consecutive year.

The Anquan Boldin Foundation, also known as Q81 for the #81 that he wears on the field, is dedicated to expanding the educational and life opportunities of underprivileged children as well as benefiting youth programs in Boldin’s home state of Florida. The Foundation exercises scholarship and dental programs for children. It also serves the community by awarding great scholastic and community achievement in youth.

The World Golf Championship lived up to its name on Thursday. 65 of the top golfers in the world descended on Trump Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami and the top of the leaderboard is full with some of golf's biggest names including several local golfers.

Tiger Woods (Jupiter Island) and Freddie Jacobson (Hobe Sound) both shot 6-under 66s in the first round and share the lead with defending Masters Champion, Bubba Watson, 2010 US Open Champion, Graeme McDowell, and Sergio Garcia. Several other big names are not far behind, with Phil Mickelson and Hunter Mahan leading a group of four golfers one off of the lead at -5.

Biomedical Speakers Come to Admirals Cove

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University is a premiere, research medical school dedicated to biomedical investigative studies and procurement of ethical and compassionate scientists and physicians.  Inspired by their namesake, the university “welcomes students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds who strive to enhance human health in the community and beyond.”  Education is the heart of Einstein’s undertaking although they are a leader in biomedical research.  During 2012, Einstein faculty received nearly $160 million in funding from the National Institutes of Health.

As the eyes of the golf world turn to this week’s WGC Cadillac Championship in Doral and the PGA Tour’s Puerto Rico Open, one can’t help but notice the huge link these two tournaments have. Both courses hosting these two tournaments are owned by business mogul, Donald Trump.

Trump owns 13 golf courses around the world, including two in Palm Beach County and three in the state of Florida and he doesn’t show any signs of being done. Two of the 13 courses will be featured this week for the entire nation to see as his Miami and Puerto Rico courses are playing host to some of the top golfers in the world, making Donald Trump the newest, big player in the golf community.

Admirals Cove 2013 Club Championship

The best golfers in the community gathered last weekend and braved the uncharacteristically chilly temperatures all in a quest for the coveted title of Admirals Cove Club Champion!   Spectators and participants wondered how the frigid air would effect the performances.  No need to worry, some local Jupiter residents and veteran snowbirds accustomed to the temperatures played through, and as the day warmed, phenomenal golf played with lots of great shots from all.  

Down to the final four of the men’s championship were Bruce Quinn, Rich Carroll, Bernie Carballo, 2012 Club Champion, and Bud Kline, (FBC Home Loans and Mortgage) 2011 Club Champion.  Mr. Quinn played a solid round of golf defeating Mr. Carroll and winning the title of 2013 Admirals Cove

Professional Golfer: Ernie Els

Golf legend, Ernie Els and his chartable foundation announced Tuesday, March 5 their plans to build a groundbreaking center for autism right here in Jupiter, Florida. What the foundation is calling “an epicenter for autism research, transition and treatment” is sure to be of immeasurable benefit to our society! 

Els and his team have put together the plans to build a $30 million charter school in the Limestone Creek area of Jupiter. The center will focus on giving children, ages 3 to 21 years old, the best quality of life when living with autism.

Waterfront Properties Walk for Diabetes

Thousands of people participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation 2013 West Palm Beach Walk to Cure Diabetes on Saturday, March 2, 2013. Waterfront Properties and Club Communities, corporate offices located in Jupiter, FL, sponsored a team to help raise funds and awareness to worthwhile cause. The disease has afflicted members of the Waterfront family. They have witnessed the struggles of multiple insulin injections, carbohydrate counting, food monitoring, high and low blood sugar episodes.

The goal of supporting the Waterfront walk team was to push the bar to eradicate the disease that affects millions of children each year. All the funds aid in research, treatment and prevention efforts. The goal for this

On March 22nd, the Palm Beach County chapter of Habitat for Humanity will team up with the PGA South Florida Foundation to host the 6th annual Home in One Golf Classic. The event will be held at Jonathan’s Landing on the Fazio course.

A Tee It Up Cocktail Reception will be held the evening of the 21st at the Villages Course and will feature silent and live auctions. Some of the auction packages being offered will include 2013 Presidents Cup tickets, 2013 LPGA Solheim Cup tickets, a weekend of golf and resort stay at Casa de Campo as many other destination resort get-a-ways.
