2nd Friday of Every Month the city of West Palm Beach will be presenting an outdoor movie at the Waterfront Commons. South Florida’s winter weather makes it the perfect time for just such an event.

The event begins with free family activities and then you can watch free screenings of your favorite movies and make great memories with friends and family on the second Friday of every month. Join us for family-friendly movies featuring both classic films and newer flicks while overlooking the spectacular waterfront in downtown West Palm Beach. Bring a blanket or a chair and purchase popcorn, snacks and beverages from our stocked concession stand.

Tonight, Thursday, January 3rd, you can join a group of West Palm Beach joggers for a scenic 3.5-mile run. The group meets at the Publix steps at Rosemary and Fern Street. You should bring a clean shirt in case you decide to stay for a drink or dinner at West Palm Brewery on Evernia after the run!

Also, don't forget a few quarters since parking on the street is probably the easiest thing to do. But don’t worry, the meters only go until 7pm north of Publix you only need a few. The course you’ll be jogging is perfect for runners of all skill levels, on it you’ll see scenic views of the Intracoastal, the ocean and Palm Beach Island.

As the Downtown West Palm Beach landscape continues to evolve, so do the features that accompany it. That can be seen in the new CityZen Garden that opened this past week outside the Broadstone Apartments.

A collaboration between Sherryl Muriente, her husband Beju, and Finnish artist Marco Casagrande, the new area features a small outdoor amphitheater, a zen garden and several statues. The space was designed as part of the West Palm Beach Art in Public Places program. The program requires developers to either donate to a public art fund or build public art on their site. As a result, the trio worked with the Alliance Residential Company who developed the Broadstone Apartments.
