The Audi Stuart Airshow and Palm City Chamber of Commerce have created an upcoming event called "Airport Business After Hours." On Thursday, August 16th from 5-7 p.m., dozens of local businesses and residents will gather at the Martin County Airport to network and enjoy food, wine and beer, trivia, and of course, amazing aerobatic performances. 

Just in time for National Aviation Day, the airshow will also include aircraft displays, World War II reenactments and more. The cost is only $5.

Dog lovers it's time to get excited- the 4th annual 'Pup Crawl' is happening this Saturday with the theme "Harry Pawter."

The pup crawl is a fundraiser for the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. It's been a hit the past three years and the society is hoping for another one. 

Locals can bring their pups to five different pet-friendly restaurants/bars in the Stuart area. It's $25 to participate and includes a free drink at each stop. The "Harry Pawter" theme means you and your pup should arrive with style because there will be costume contests, prizes, a 50/50 raffle and giveaways throughout the evening.

Here are the stops for the crawl:

1. Mulligan's Beach House 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

This Saturday, August 4th, is the innagural Manatee Island Ladies Fun Fishing Tournament for all fierce female anglers.

Lines go in at 7 a.m. and sisters, wives, moms and girlfriends will have seven hours to catch the most/biggest fish. The tournament will be held at the Manatee Island Bar & Grill which is situated on the inlet in Stuart. Weigh in will be between 2-3 p.m. at the Stuart Sailfish Marina around the corner. 

The award ceremony for the best female angler will be back at the Bar & Grill at 3:30. From then until 11:30 p.m. it's gonna be a party with awesome food and drink specials, live music and some special surprises.

In the small waterside town of Port Salerno, there's a distinguished art gallery showcasing fantastic bronze sculptures by internationally recognized artist Geoffrey C. Smith. 

Smith is an American wildlife sculptor and photographer whose best-known work includes the Stuart Sailfish, which has become an icon at the center of the city, and more recently, "The Lotus: Rising Above," a small bronze sculpture given to Pope Francis in 2017 as a gift from President Donald Trump. Smith has 10 other commissioned pieces in Martin and Palm Beach counties including the otters at the Palm Beach Zoo, leaping dolphins at Indian Riverside Park in Jensen Beach, and a display of

A much-needed reservoir is one step closer to construction with the Army Corps of Engineers and White House Office of Management and Budgeting approving the $1.4 billion project to limit toxic discharges from Lake Okeechobee. After decades of destruction to Florida waterways, crucial restoration plans are moving forward with the green light from congress.

Water from Lake Okeechobee, which is currently 90 percent covered in cyanobacteria according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, gets pumped east and west into the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee Rivers nearly every day during the rainy season when the one trillion-gallon lake can’t hold anymore. The Lyric Theater, 59 S.W. Flagler Avenue, is in historic downtown Stuart. The theatre was built in 1926 as a silent movie house and in 1993 it was listed on the Register of Historic Places. The playhouse operated successfully until it closed during the Depression and then sold. Over the ensuing 50+ years, the building was bought and sold over and over and used for many different purposes.

The Robert Morgade Library in Stuart is hosting an ongoing speaker series called "Outreach," and this week Historian Josh Liller will give a presentation about the history of the Coast Guard on the Treasure Coast.

The Coast Guard had a large role in the development of Stuart, Hobe Sound and Jupiter when it merged with the Lighthouse Service of the Jupiter Lighthouse in 1939. Josh Liller will talk about the military operations of the lighthouse, the local Loran Stations, and the overlooked contributions the Guard had in the area. His presentation will also feature current research statistics and photos from the Coast Guard Historian's Office. Q&A will happen afterward.

Jupiter Hills will make Florida golf history this month when it hosts the U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship on May 19th-23rd, making it the first course in the state to hold multiple USGA Championships. 

Jupiter Hills was created by Hall of Fame architect Tom Fazio, who designed more than 40 courses in Florida. Fazio has 14 courses on Golf Digest’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses- more than any other designer alive.

The Jupiter Hills course is different than any other because it is built upon natural hills of a sand ridge that runs all the way up to Vero Beach.
