The San Fransisco-based website OpenTable released its 2018 "best" list last week and a popular Palm Beach restaurant made the list.
Buccan, a staple on Palm Beach known for its inventive small plates prepared with quality ingredients, has been once again recognized by OpenTable by being included on its 2018 list. Buccan has been a hot spot in Palm Beach since chef/co-owner Clay Conley and his partners, including Sam Slattery and Piper Quinn, opened it in 2011. The restuarant has become a regular on the OpenTable "best" lists over the years, including monthly tabulations of best "hot spots" and "best overall in Miami/Southeast Florida".
OpenTable’s “100 Best Restaurants in America” list is based on a proprietary methodology relying on restaurant reviews submitted by OpenTable users, who use opentable.com to, among other things to make reservations. The 2018 list stems from more than 12 million verified OpenTable users’ reviews of 28,000-plus restaurants located in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
According to OpenTable, "the list is generated solely from diner reviews collected between Nov. 1, 2017 and Oct. 31, 2018. All restaurants with a minimum `overall’ score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to a score calculated from each restaurant’s average rating in the `overall’ category.”
Also making the list is French restaurant La Nouvelle Maison in Boca Raton.
