For the 24th year in a row, the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County (MIAPBC) is kicking off the holiday season by hosting the Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade.

From center consoles to pleasure yachts, dozens of South Florida boats will be decking their hulls in colorful lights and cruising through the intracoastal for a spectacular show of holiday spirit. The parade will be led by a Zambelli Fireworks travelling display,  will begin at the north end of Lake Worth Lagoon a 6 pm, and will travel north on the intracoastal to end with a grand finale at the Jupiter Lighthouse around 8pm, courtesy of Jetty’s, Square Grouper, and U-Tiki.

Cinquez Park, located at 2183 West Indiantown Road in Jupiter, is a new dog park which has joined other dog friendly “off leash” fun spots in addition to the beach.  Under the direction of their owners, a dog park is a safe place for dogs to exercise and play off-leash in a secure environment.  Most canine parks characteristically offer a 6' fence, separate gated entries for large and small breeds, water, shade for hot days and benches for humans.  The dog park should have regular maintenance and sanitizing of the grounds.

The YMCA has announced that Emmitt Smith will be the keynote speaker at the 10th Annual Prayer Breakfast this December.

Smith became NFL’s all-time leading rusher during his fifteen seasons as a professional football player during the 1990s and 2000s. He is a three-time Super Bowl Champion, and NFL Hall of Famer, and of course- winner of season 3 Dancing with the Stars.

The YMCA’s Prayer Breakfast is held annually to ignite inspiration within the community in support of the organization’s mission- to ensure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the ability to learn, grow, and thrive. The Y has a goal of never turning away an individual or family for needed programs or services because of their inability to pay.

LagoonFest spotlights one of the most scenic waterways in the Palm Beaches. The arts in Palm Beach County continue to grow and prosper. One of the exuberant expressions of the arts in the area is Young Friends of Palm Beach Symphony. The bite was scarce last weekend, but it seems to have been picking up this week due to the full moon. A few wahoo are starting to show up from the full moon and mild cold front, especially closer to the Bahamas. Around here, 150-400’ is where wahoo have hooked up along with blackfin tuna. Troll with small feathers during lowlight for tuna, and use the small ones to catch wahoo. Another option is to pick up a local favorite Junkanoo Lure and high speed troll in a zig-zag pattern. Sailfish are also coming out of the woodwork, and kite fishing with hearty live baits like goggle-eyes or blue runners is your best bet.

Besides being one of the safest places to live in Florida, North Palm Beach is about to receive an upgrade to the village’s public country club.

The North Palm Beach Country Club and its pool were originally built in 1963 for $400,000, and with an increase in property value along with notable affluent residents, a lot has changed in this gorgeous seaside town since then. The 55-year old clubhouse has since been demolished in lieu of an $18 million overhaul.

The new 37,000 square foot clubhouse will include a lavish community room to be used for banquets, a restaurant, a pro shop, locker rooms, and storage for golf carts. The 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course is also receiving a face-lift with brand new sod and grass seedlings.
