Golfers are getting ready for the 21st Annual Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation Golf Tournament happening on October 15th at the Boca West Country Club. The tournament was started in 1997 and has tripled in participation over the last decade with 340 golfers attending last year's tournament which raised $465,000 for the foundation.
The annual tournament benefits the hospital’s nursing program, with the goal to support recruitment, retention, continuing education, and quality of care for patients.
“Nurses are truly the key to quality healthcare," said Michael Hoffer, the Annual Giving Development Officer at the Boca Raton Regional Hospital Foundation. "The Ron & Kathy Assaf Center for Excellence in Nursing provides many personal and professional opportunities for our nurses including scholarships that support their professional advancement. Continuing education is the biggest part of our nursing program, and the golf tournament helps them to continue to climb the clinical ladder at the hospital and continue to grow, both personally and professionally.”
On tourney day, the shotgun call is at 12:30 p.m. Golfers will play until around 4:30 and doors open for dinner at 5 p.m. At the dinner ceremony, the winning team and stand-out plays will be recognized and guests can participate in a live auction to attend the Lexus Champions for Charity tournament in Pebble Beach, California.
